Afriradio is the first Italian web radio dedicated to the African continent, and in 2008 held a competition to renew its logo.

The logo that I submitted summarises the punchline "la radio con l'Africa dentro" by focusing on the continent, and juxtaposing it with the classical webradio iconography, suggesting that the content transmitted comes directly from Africa.

I decided to design a very simple, clear and immediate logo, as information available through the Internet is supposed to be, but keeping an eye on the real world made of paper and furniture. The result contains all the details clearly, so it's not necessary to create special versions to accommodate for media with special needs.

Purists will hate me, but I chose to use Arial, not Helvetica, for purely economic reasons.
